A little bit of history
ETL or Electrical Testing Laboratories were founded in North America in 1896 by famous American inventor Thomas Edison. Remarkable, isn't it? A century later, in 1996, those laboratories were purchased by a large investment firm and named Intertek.
Nowadays, Intertek laboratories are recognized by governments of North America and Canada as testing laboratories and provide a broad range of product safety testing and certification services worldwide.
